Wetland vegetation Wetlands in the middle reaches of Omono-gawa (Fens in Takayashiki, Oura-numa, Otogoe-numa, Yunodai and Shouhougakuzawa -shitsugen) Lakes, marshes and swamps dotting the floodplain and terrace along the Omono-gawa (river). These lakes and swamps are found in hilly areas and low wetlands converted into paddy fields. They host Nuphar japonicum, Habenaria radiata, Equisetum limosum and Trapa japonica var. rubeola. Many threatened species are also found.
[Takayashiki-teiso-shitsugen]: Communities of Nuphar japonicum and Eguisetem limosum, in rivers and swamps.
[Oura-numa]: Trapa japonica-Nuphar japonicum communities, Salvinia natans-Spirodela polyrhiza communities, Nymphoides peltata and Hydrocharis dubia.
[Otogoe-numa]: Trapa japonica var. rubeola-Potamogeton natans communities.
[Yunodai/Shouhougakuzawa -shitsugen]: Communities of Rhynchospora rugosa and R. fujiiana-R. fauriei.
