Laks and marshes
in Hachimantai |
Yo-numa represents the
only place in Japan with communities of Subularia aquatica.
There is a possibility that other lakes and marshes in the site
might support oligotrophic aquatic plants. For this reason, the
site merits attention. |

Habitat of Arctocorisa
kurilensis, Davidius moiwanus moiwanus, Aeshna juncea, A. nigroflava,
Somatochlora uchidai, S. viridiaenea viridiaenea, Cordulia aenea
amurensis, Nannophya pygmaea, Sympetrum danae and Leucorrhinia
dubia orientalis. Surveys of such marshes as Hachiman-numa,
Gama-numa, Horai-numa, as well as swamps of Kuro-yachi and Gozaisho-shitsugen,
found that high-altitude ponds and marshes support large number
of Arctocorisa kurilensis, an unusual species of the boreal
genus Glaenocorisa, Sigara maikoensis and Notonecta reuteri. |
