Insects Wetlands in the lower reaches of Iwaki-gawa and Jusan-ko Vast swamps dominated by reed Phragmites communis are formed on the riverside of lowest reaches of the Iwaki-gawa. Various beetles are found around Jusan-ko. There occur many aquatic insects including various dragonfly species such as Ictinogomphus clavatus and Aeschnophlebia longistigma, and water beetles such as Hydaticus aruspex, Graphoderus adamsii, Cybister brevis, Dytiscus dauricus, Hydrophilus dauricus and Hydrochus aequalis. Japonica onoi mizobei is also found here.
Benthos Jusan-ko and estuary of Iwaki-gawa Habitat of brackish benthos such as Corbicula japonica.
