This is a valuable site in Ishigaki-jima (island) where distribution of Enhalus acoroides has been confirmed. Enhalus acoroides occurs near the reef edge, at the outermost fringe of mixed seagrass beds comprised of 8 species such as Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea serrulata, Cymodocea rotundata, Syringodium isoetifolium, Halophila ovalis, Halodule uninervis and Halodule pinifolia. Preliminary survey of benthos has also been conducted. This is the northernmost distribution site of Enhalus acoroides in tropical seagrass beds in Japan (the Pacific).

Calliphata exellence occurs in abundance.
Crustaceans Mangrove forests and estuary of Fukido-gawa The river flowing into Fukido Mangrove wetland supports four rare aquatic animal species listed in RDB, they are, Atyopsis pilipes, Neocaridina brevirostris, Geothelphusa minei and Ryukyum yaeyamense. The entire river basin is important.
