Habitat of Kandelia candel, Bruguiera gymnorhiza and Rhizophora mucronata, the forest of which is collectively designated as a Municipal Natural Monument. Rare distribution site of mangrove tree species. Geographically rare distribution site of mangrove forests. Representative and endemic distribution site of mangrove forest ecosystems rich in species diversity.
Insects Oura-
gawa
and
Oura-wan
Upstream area of Oura-gawa (river) abounds in lotic insects, including notable dragonflies such as Matrona basilaris japonica, Coeliccia ryukyuensis and Chlorogomphus brunneus brunneus. Pools around the mangrove forests are rich in species diversity of lentic insects. These areas support also Armatocillenus yokohamae, which lives in brackish water.
Benthos Oura-wan Many vulnerable species are found in mangrove forests, including Neritina turrita, Nerita undulata, "Assiminea" sp., Cassidula crassiucula and Platevindex cf. mortoni.
