Uryu T Bogs Wetland vegetation Uryunuma-shitsugen (including Etaidake-shitsugen, Gunmadake-shitsugen) The site contains small bogs in Etai-dake (peak) and Gunma-dake, and on the eastern slope of Minamishokan-dake. Uryunuma-shitsugen is designated as a Prefectural Natural Monument by the government of Hokkaido. There are communities of Moliniopsis japonica-Sphagnum papillosum, M. japonica-S. compactum, M. japonica-Carex middendorffii, S. pulchrum and Scheuchzeria palustris-Rhynchospora alba. The diverse aquatic plant communities are found in ponds and rivers, including communities of Sparganium gramineum, S. gramineum, Carex rostrata, Menyanthes trifoliata, Iris laevigata, Equisetum limosum, Carex rhynchophysa and C. lyngbyei. Riparian vegetation includes langsdorffii-Veratrum stamineum communities.
Insects Wetlands in Shokanbetsu-dake (Uryu-numa-shitsugen and Etaidake-shitsugen) Habitat of Haliplus japonicus, Erebia niphonica niphonica and Trechus (Epaphius) hashimotoi.
