Relatively many bird species are observed in relatively large population sizes during the spring and autumn migrating seasons and the wintering season. Visitation of Numenius madagascariensis, an RDB species, has been recorded.

Stopover or wintering site of Larus saundersi.
Benthos Estuary of
Ono-gawa
Species representative of the Ariake-kai are found in abundance, including Cerithidea largillierti, C. ornata, Pseudomphala latericea miyazakii, Uca arcuata, Cleistostoma dilatatum and Boleophthalmus pectinirostris. Salinator takii, of which distribution is limited even in the Ariake-kai is also found in this estuary.
