Wetland complex, Lakes and marshes Aquatic plants Meander-scar lakes in Tokachi-gawa water system Many meander-scar lakes. A great diversity in aquatic plant species. There are lakes where occurs Lemna trisulca. Close attention must be paid as meander-scar lakes are disappearing one after another.
Geese and ducks Marshes in the lower reaches of Tokachi-gawa (Mikazuki-numa, Ikusoda-numa and Ikeda-kimon-to) Stopover sites of Anser fabalis middendorffii.
Other birds River basin of Tokachi-gawa Habitat of Grus japonensis. About 6% of the total number of the nests built is found here.
