Marsh plant communities dominated by Phragmites communis. There also occur communities of Phragmites communis, Zizania latifolia and Carex thunbergii. Found also are many rare aquatic plants that are infrequently encountered elsewhere in the prefecture, including Utricularia australis and Euryale ferox.
Insects Okegaya-numa
and Tsuruga-ike
Habitat of Libellula angelina (classified as Endangered (EN) or Critically Endangered (CR)) and Lestes japonicus. The only places throughout Honshu (mainland of Japan) that abound in Libellula angelin. Habitat of Ilycoris exclamationis, Gerris esakii and Hesperocorixa distanti hokkensis, all classified as Near Threatened species.
