The wetland site extends from Rusa to Shiretoko-misaki (cape).
There occur seven Laminariales species including one rare
species. With both warm-sea and cold-sea species of the kelp and
other algae occurring, the site forms an excellent ecological landscape.
These species are closely related to those found in Kunashiri-to
and Etorofu-to islands. |
